Friends of the School Association (FSA)
As a parent of a child at Charlton Horethorne Primary we are all members of the FSA, and you are very welcome to take part in whatever way you are able. The FSA is open to all parents, carers, staff and friends of the school.
The FSA is a registered charity, constituted separately from the school. Our primary aim is to raise funds and support activities to enhance the experience and education of the children in our school. For example, Christmas activities in school, transport for school trips, special items for the classrooms or playground. We also aim to encourage the sense of community and belonging within our school through the activities we organise and support. Hopefully you will find the more you get involved with the FSA the more friendships you will make and the more a part of the school community you will feel.
The FSA has a committee elected annually in the Autumn term. The committee is:
Adie Oura – Chairman
Andrea Power – Treasurer
Helen Bagwell – Secretary
As a committee our role is to facilitate the activity of the FSA, not to organise everything! So we welcome ideas, suggestions and offers of help at any time. We hold meetings at least once a term, and circulate the minutes to all parents via the school office. The FSA try to keep parents well informed of forthcoming events and activities through flyers, posters, school newsletters and this website. We also have an FSA email group to communicate ideas and requests for help in between meetings. If you would like to be added to this please let the school office know your details for the attention of Helen Bagwell.
As a registered charity, we are keen to benefit from any existing fundraising schemes. Here are a few we are signed up with, and if you know of any more please tell us:
